Quick updates

Sorry for the lack of posts lately!

News from here...Liam is taking swim lessons three days a week; Oliver just got his seventh and eighth teeth; Clara and Evelyn are doing well in school and are both reading lots. Dan has been working on our laundry room after bedtime, trying madly to finally finish what we started a year ago. We're putting in new trim, new paint, and new floor, moving our chest freezer out of the garage and into that space, and putting a "pantry" shelving unit in there (it's currently in our entryway).

As for me...got my first speeding ticket earlier in the month, and am now doing online traffic school. On the bright side, the school is cheaper (by about $20), and erases the citation from my record! Warning to all: don't drive 43 in a 25 construction zone...sigh. And no, it was not intentional. I somehow spaced the whole speed slow-down sign! 

The triplets are doing great - sadly the boys are still in the hospital, only for feeding help and weight gain. We were all hoping yesterday would be the day...now it looks like Wednesday. Poor Beth is beyond frustrated with the whole deal (rightfully so). Hopefully in mere days that whole family will be together, at home.

Lilah is home!

Beautiful Lilah Rose, Triplet "A," is spending her first night at home tonight!

She was born at 4 lb 2 oz, 34 weeks and a day...today she is 4 lb 10 oz, 36 weeks and 3 days gestational age, 2 weeks one day real age.

Much like the superstition of wishing an actor to "break a leg" and not "good luck," the NICU nurses say babies are "headed out for pizza," and not "going home." So here is Ms. Lilah enjoying her pizza - at home!

Congratulations Beth and Memo...the boys are not far behind. You have done an amazing job with these gorgeous babies!!

India: Chapter Five

The first big party.

I'll skip the details, give the basics, and jump to the pictures!

Ashish's friends hosted a party at a lovely private club...we dubbed it the "pink party," thanks to the decorations.

The baby is a cousin of the groom...of interest to non-Indians, see the black "pen mark" on the baby's temple? That mark is to ward off the "evil eye," by "marring" the baby's beauty...

34 weeks, one day gestation...final belly shot!

And sadly, there was no talking the staff into letting two of us accompany B for surgery :(

Don't be scared by all the tubes - the babies are all on C-pap for some breathing assistance (but not intubated!), they have a BP cuff, an oximeter, an IV (fluids and dextrose to help stabilize sugars), and a heart monitor...so while the wires look overwhelming, the babies were all doing really well!

Congratulations to my amazing sister- and brother- in law! We are so excited to have little cousins join the family!

TOMORROW!!

Tomorrow, at 8 a.m., we will joyfully welcome three new family members earth-side! My fabulous sister-in-law B is 34 weeks with her boy-boy-girl triplets, and the decision has been made that it's time to bring them out. I am SO.EXCITED for her, and selfishly of course for myself too - I am the appointed photographer!

Oh,  I measured her fundal height yesterday at 52cm pubis to fundus, or 49cm umbilicus to fundus (plus 20). For a singleton, we'd expect a measurement around 33 or 34 cm!
